exile. Yet the prophets highlight God’s indomitable will to begin fresh with Israel and the nations and to bring those who believe in him to Zion. At least four points deserve mention. First, 2 Sam 7:1–29 places David’s household at the center of God’s covenantal redemptive work. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and several of the Minor Prophets highlight David’s greatest heir.
